Abstract: | Information about the current state of Canada's children is essential to identify opportunities for intervention. This report provides information about children's hospitalization patterns to providers, parents, care givers and policy makers, in a pictorial geographic presentation. The most important and clearly motivating force behind the Canadian Child Health Atlas is a desire to review more carefully environmental factors in childhood disease. From an epidemiologic viewpoint, the occurrence of illness or injury often reflects an interaction among three principal factors: agent, host and environment. |
